Throwing it back to January-March-May 💪🏼 My journey so far has been incredible and one I’ve really enjoyed. I’ve done comp preps, I’ve tried different types of diets, keto, low carb, you name it I’ve probably tried it. For any new followers, here’s a little about me & why I started this page... Hi!! 👋🏼 My name is Leah, I turned 30 last month, I’m married to my hubby; Jake & we have three beautiful (crazy) children! Harper is my oldest; he’s 4, Lenni is my girl, she’s 2.5 & Cassidy is my bubba, he’s almost 5 months. After I had little Lenni girl; I was struggling to grasp the routine of motherhood, especially with two monkeys under 2! I was so tired, I constantly felt like I was trying to catch up (to what, I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ )... not only could I not figure out when to do things like breastfeed, clean, rest, divide my time between two kids, exercise, prepare dinner, eat healthy myself, etc, but I was gaining weight from constantly turning to high sugar foods when i realized I hadn’t eaten since that bite of Harper’s toast at breakfast & started to feel like I was going to fall asleep! Chocolate at 3pm it is!! 💁🏼‍♀️ 🤦🏼‍♀️ - So this is when Jake decided he would do a meal & exercise plan; created by a trainer at his gym; he paid her to ‘customize’ a meal plan for him and requested that he take ‘before’ pictures.. so I took his pictures & he took some of me too! I was shocked to see mine! I didn’t look like my healthy self! When Jake received his meal plan it was boring (to say the least)... egg white for breakfast, protein powder, tuna & salad for lunch & chicken & broccoli for dinner... 7 days a week!! Umm what? Surely not enough food (or variety) to maintain for any amount of time.. This is where I had a look at @thebod_ meal & exercise plan after coming across the beautiful mum of 4 @sophie_guidolin! This looked more like it! 3 meals per day & snacks! All recipes included, a tone of variety over 12 weeks & exercises in the one book! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 I started the program the next Monday & saw results immediately! My body was screaming for the abundance of good, nourishing, delicious food that @thebod_ offered! I could also do workouts at home that really gave me direction & challenged me.. PLUS... this program gave me a routine to follow with my family in tow! Food that could be pre-prepared that was family friendly and go-to snacks in the pantry & fridge! 🙌🏽 perfect!! 💕 cont..👇

I want to have a chat about TUNING IN! I get it, we all have days/weeks, where we just can’t seem to get motivated. I also know that many wise people will tell us it’s not motivation, but DISCIPLINE that keeps us going. . The reality is, for many of us, tapping into that discipline is half the challenge, ESPECIALLY when we’re having a crap week! 😂 It’s easy to feel like the goals we set a few weeks back, are now a distant memory and we’re creeping back into old habits. I GET IT! . Toward the end of last week, I was 100% feeling like this. This week, I decided to take a week off training and I want to tell you that I had a BREAK THROUGH! But, please hear me out before you hang up your training shoes!! . Usually, I love to exercise. I enjoy feeling fit, strong and in momentum with my training. But every now and again, I feel completely EXHAUSTED. I’ve noticed that this is a pattern for me. It happens when I’ve had a few stressful weeks, there’s been a lot on my plate, and I get to a stage when I’m mentally/emotionally drained. When I give myself a break from training, I feel as though I have failed. I will fall behind on my 12 week challenge (for example) and I feel guilty that I haven’t seen my goal through. Relatable? . THIS TIME, I TOOK A NEW APPROACH! . I gave myself a week off training. I ALLOWED myself to do this, without the guilt! I told myself I needed a week of “active recovery”. So, I continued to wake up an hour earlier most days, but instead of training, I turned my energy inward. I used this time to listen to podcasts, read some books, journal my thoughts, practice gratitude and choose out an affirmation card each day. I was BLOWN AWAY by the result. I now feel my stress levels have reduced. I feel calm, happy and inspired again. I feel MOTIVATED. . So if you’re feeling off, TUNE IN! What is it that you need? Sometimes it’s intense workouts, and other times it’s growth in other areas. I’m not saying throw in the towel. I’m just saying that you’re allowed to TUNE IN! . That said, I’m off to the gym! This girl is back to her usual self again! Happy Friday!
