๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ Elevated reverse lunge Another golden exercise for single leg strength. Except this time the front leg is elevated. This is so we can get go through more hip flexion loaded. I worked with a 3 second eccentric (lowering) phase here so plenty of time under tension. As the weeks progress this will be lowered and the intensity (weight) will increase. Single leg strength training should be included in your training at least once per week in my opinion. It helps with any imbalances left to right & has a lovely carry over to running & sports. 4 sets of 8 reps each side ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Besides being able to show what PTs have to offer in a non-traditional setting, it allows for genuine reflection ๐Ÿค” on how much progress can be made with coaching and exercise . Serene has really crushed it since the beginning ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ . She hadnโ€™t ever done any weight training in the past when she first came to me. And you can see how hesitant she is to move early on. Not because she didnโ€™t have the ability. But because these werenโ€™t motor programs ๐Ÿง  that she had mastered or even practiced! . Fast forward a few weeks ๐Ÿ—“ and now weโ€™re really loading. Much more confident and intentional with how she moves, form is on point, AND sheโ€™s able to push some weight ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ around! . Runners ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธSHOULD be strength training.
