LOVE YOURSELF today. . . when you’re less tired. have more time. stretch marks will fade. the weight will come off. and you might choose to “get your body back” but you may also decide that it isn’t as important as you once thought it would be. your body hasn’t gone anywhere. it has journeyed this life WITH you. love it no matter what. at every stage. every size. take care of yourself not for a size or societal expectation but because YOU LOVE YOURSELF. . . 2 weeks postpartum Please PLEASE do not be fooled by Instagram “snapbacks”. What needs to be understood is not all women - Slim, thick, tall or small will ever have the same body they had before having a child you just had a whole baby growing inside your body! I knew as soon as I got pregnant my body was probably never gonna be the same as I said in a previous post because so much about your body changes and also what people need to think about are what stage people have had their baby. Theres no point comparing yourself to a size 8 mother who had a premature baby when your size 12 and have a big baby. I’m slim but my baby was 8.1lb my stretch marks were inevitable and you just gotta embrace what you got. I produced a whole child that’s more important than stretch marks. There’s way too much pressure to be perfect but if you put your phone down, turned off the tv and took a walk outside. Who REALLY looks like any of the people you’ve just seen on screen 🤔 #foodforthought #ownyourjourney

Yes, I do I have a valley of lines mapped across my belly, mountains of stretched skin left over my mid section, lightning bolts on my sides and back, all signs that I carried life inside of me.... five times! I also have a cesarean scar reminding me that my belly was cut open twice! My body is amazing. My body is beautiful. My body is powerful. My body is strong. My body is capable. My body made me a mother. My body grew a human inside. Not everybody has that privilege. So while society wants to sit behind a screen and label us as flawed, I am here to remind myself and all of you that to our children we are perfect. My goal didn’t consist of a specific weight I just knew I wanted to be healthy and at a size I would be comfortable in my own skin . I am not perfect and am still working on my health goals but for now I am happy! When your 5-year-old sees your postpartum stomach and gives it a big ol' tummy twister while laughing hysterically and hollering ‘IT FEELS LIKE BUBBLE GUM!!!,’ you post that ridiculous, unflattering open-mouth pic instead of the ‘prettier’ one. Oh, sweet girl... I hope you always feel confident in the skin you're in. Stretched, loose, and marked up. It's beautiful. This belly of mine will forever share my story. It's a novel that pleaded and prayed to house my babies. The fresh, crepe-paper skin means that tiny Avery is nestled in my arm instead of on the inside. My sore chest means that I'm still single-handedly growing this baby. What a straight up miracle this is. I'm feeling 100% proud of this postpartum body, with its jelly abs, and shriveled up skin. It made me a mother. A mother who now has cellulite because that's just how my body handled pregnancy. This was my road to motherhood. Paved with miserable pregnancies and yet a lifetime of unconditional pure love for these 4 little ones. One of the best pieces of advice I have for preparing for the #4thTrimester is to talk to friends that are further along in their motherhood journey. While we may never be perfectly prepared for having a baby (whether it’s our first or fifth) I do believe that by sharing our stories we can plant necessary seeds. Then when it’s 3am and you’re balling because you nipples feel like they are being torn apart, you will hear your friends voice. You will be reminded of her story and you will know- you are not alone. The struggles of the #fourthtrimester are what bond us to all the parents that came before us and all that will come after. So talk to your friends- ask them to tell you the story of their #postpartumjourney ✨ A fulfilled motherhood requires authentic sisterhood. Moms need moms. Moms need to know that their truth is OUR truth. IM SO EXCITED!!! . Guys, I finished my very first @shaunt program! Like how is that possible?! I was so intimidated taking on a program that was made by the same maker of insanity and p90x and all of these super hard programs. I kept questioning if I could do it or if I was strong enough. . Now that I've reached the other side I know I AM strong physically and mentally. I've watched my endurance grow and have tracked my moves and watched my numbers change - sometimes more in a week and sometimes less. I've pushed myself and done some pretty awkward moves and stretches for this program but goodness do I feel good! I cant wait to share my results from this program- just 20 minutes a day/6 days a week/6 weeks. If I did this program again would you join in with me?! . Dont even dare say you dont have time... I choose to share my journey in hopes of inspiring other new moms along the way. I hope that because I put out how I overcome my struggles, it will help other women do the same. Today was another one of those ah-ha moments that I felt I should share. There is a concept called The Time Displacement Theory, which basically means that everything you do takes your time and energy regardless of whether its in a positive or negative direction. “I don’t have time to lose this weight right now” is what I would tell myself, when in reality I was giving SO much time and energy to these negative thoughts.. I was constantly thinking “Ugh why doesn’t anything fit? I seriously feel so gross. This is not who I am” And all these negative thoughts and feelings all weighed me down and took up far more of my time and energy than I even realized at the time. When I started learning HOW to eat, how to fuel my body in a POSITIVE way and how to make it work in my chaotic life as a new mom, it changed my life. I now know how to focus my time, energy, and efforts into being productive -- allowing me to come back to the me I was meant to be. When you are stressing about finding clothes that fit, feeling guilty about what you ate, or worrying about how you pose in a picture because you’re nervous how it’ll look when it gets posted, that ALL takes time and energy. So when you take that same time and energy and focus it on finding productive ways to make better choices, you’ll be happier & healthier a whole lot sooner. **WOMENS’ BODIES ARE AMAZING** •☝🏼a reminder for both men and women☝🏼• • This is my 1 week postpartum mom bod.🙈• • I usually go almost all day without looking in the mirror, and by the time I do I often find my mascara half melted under my eyes and/or something that’s been stuck in my teeth for God knows how long. I’ve never been a huge fan of looking at my reflection, at least not for longer than what is necessary to complete whatever task I’m needing to get done. It’s not just the fact that I have about zero time to, but I find that if I start staring too long, the more critical I become of myself. And the more I try and compare myself to the grossly unrealistic beauty standards that bombard us women daily. So in turn, I try to avoid even entertaining those thoughts all together. • • But this morning I stopped. Looked at myself, *que internal slap in the face* and instead of critiquing my new mom bod I gave myself CREDIT. Credit for all that it’s been through. Credit for all its continuing to do. And felt damn proud of what it’s accomplished.• • I’ve carried life inside me for almost 10 months, birthed this little angel baby, and am now her sole source of nutrients. For a health and fitness coach, I really need to do a better job a sharing my meals 😆 I mainly share this kind of stuff in my bootcamp, there’s a lot more behind the scenes in there. I’m not the greatest at nutrition, I’ll be honest about that but I LOVE eating healthy - it makes me feel so good but I’m pretty boring when it comes to eating, I don’t make new recipes often because it’s time consuming and can get expensive if you have to buy new ingredients all the time so I stick with what I know. We as a family eat a lot of the same meals - turkey chili is a staple in our house! It’s perfect for the winter months! It’s healthy + filling. ⁣ ⁣ The foods I eat on the regular are⁣ Eggs, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, my chocolate superfood shake, carrots, hummus, chicken, red meat, all green veggies, rice, salad + tonnsss of water. ⁣ ⁣ I always make enough dinner every night to have leftovers the next day for lunch for it’s pretty brainless for me to eat a healthy lunch! ⁣ ⁣ You can learn more about meal prepping, saving money + eating healthy in my bootcamps, you can join at any time and there will be a group available for you! If you’ve been around for a minute you can gather a few things about me:⁣ 1. I’m pregnant ⁣ 2. I have a crazy fun toddler ⁣ 3. I’m married to a ginger cutie ⁣ 4. I workout & invite people to join my online community A LOT⁣ ⁣ One area, I’m not so great at sharing as much is my faith. I am working to change that.⁣ ⁣ I’m in a season of life that is telling me that I AM NOT ENOUGH & that’s honestly the most freeing thing I can admit. ⁣ ⁣ I am not enough but God is.⁣ ⁣ As my husband prepares for his next deployment, while we prepare to welcome our second son...overwhelm & fear grip me. I jump from “I’ve got this” to worry daily, proof of me relying on my own strength to get “through.”⁣ ⁣ This necklace is my reminder to stop striving. Stop leaning on myself. Stop thinking I am strong enough on my own. I’m not & that’s a pretty great. ⁣ ⁣ This necklace is a gift from a fellow mom & member of my team who surprised me with a random Venmo. She said “get yourself something special, us mamas got to stick together.” ⁣ ⁣ That random act of kindness led me to pause & realize, I’m not alone in this. God’s surrounding me with help & support. He is able. He is enough. ⁣ ⁣ “Now to Him who is able...” –Ephesians 3:20 ⁣ ⁣ Whatever you’re going through, I hope this gives you comfort like it’s giving me. 💕⁣
