Would you ever tell your friend they are messing up because they forgot an appointment or haven’t done laundry in a week, despite having kids they have to take care of? Would you ever look at your friends body who just had a baby and tell them they are fat, that they just need to loose the extra weight? We are so hard on ourselves and expect things from ourselves that we would never expect from anyone else. This leaves us feeling less than, like we can never meet our own standards. Today I encourage you to notice when the word “should” comes into your mind. “I should have done this better.” “I should have lost the baby weight.” “I should have a baby who sleeps through the night.” “I should have given more of myself” You know the “shoulds”. When you notice the word should replace it with a compassionate statement instead. I gained 52 lbs during pregnancy. I was told the appropriate amount to gain was about 35 pounds, so I was a little bothered when I surpassed that. But I didn't let it get to me long. I know every woman's journey is different with pregnancy and I frequently reminded myself that I gained the exact amount that I needed to comfortably house my new little one. . I'm almost 3 weeks postpartum and feeling pretty good about where I am. My body has really started transforming back to its original pre-baby form, a lot of which I credit to breastfeeding. But also - if there’s anything I’ve learned from this experience it’s that I’m SO thankful I’ve made health a priority in my life. My body just went through the gambit and it has come out strong on the other side. I haven’t had any complications and am already moving around like I used to after major surgery. I know if I didn’t prioritize my health as much, I would have suffered more during birth and recovery would be much tougher. If I can say anything to mama’s-to-be or women thinking of becoming mamas it would be to take good care of yourself! Your body will thank you. . I'm down 24 lbs since giving birth and feeling good. I love my body and what it just accomplished! Believe it or not, I am actually a little proud of my C-section scar. It’s a symbol of all this little family has been through. And I'm still excited for this journey to build my strength back up after what my body has gone through. . #thisismypostpartum. All journeys are different and none is better than the other. All I can say is - Aren't our bodies so incredible?? To make a comeback after building a human? It's just amazing!!

Spilling the tea 🍵 Quick back story of my journey! If you didn’t know this, I was fired last year when I was 5 months pregnant ( which has been so hard for me to publicly say). Having this happen really put me in a downward spiral. Mentally,emotionally and physically! It took a lot of passion out of me and felt as though I could only see the negative in just about everything! I was an extremely active person and put all the things I loved to the side. I had zero motivation I lost a sense of who I was and I’m turn gained close to 60 pounds with my second pregnancy. I reached a breaking point after having my daughter and knew I needed to make a change not only for me but for my family. One thing I knew I could Lean to was getting back into Fitness and health, I had totally put this on the back burner. It has always been a passion of mine. My husband always jokes with me and asks what’s Your hobby and I answer working out.. “it’s my me time” so when I felt at my lowest I knew what I had to do! It has truly helped in all aspects of my life! Now, I’m still not perfect ( but who is) but what I do know is that each and everyday I’m making baby steps to bettering myself inside and out! So I decided to push my fear aside and take my passion for health & fitness to the next level & really begin to empower women to change their lives just like I am! To say I am just over the moon excited about this incredible opportunity couldn’t be more true & even more excited that I get to start helping all of my family, friends, & even you in transforming your health through fitness, nutrition, & accountability. . 🍒 I won’t lie...being in sports all my life...I had thoughts...⠀ ⠀ I knew I will somehow get into my pre-pregnancy “suit” again...but I didn’t really know what to expect...⠀ ⠀ I was active till the last day of my pregnancy...delivery was super fast...and I lost 10kg first week after birth⠀ But that’s just my experience. Not every single one of us will go down that road... ⠀ Anyhow...5kg left...wider chest & additional fat on my hips (which I was totally not used to)...and boobs...where are they now?!?⠀ ⠀ Yea, my body was different...my body is still different from the one I had before I got pregnant... ⠀ But hey! I gave birth! And o my gush! It felt surreal holding that tiny little creature...and it still feels surreal today ❤️ ⠀ I knew what was my purpose after I gave birth: 1. To breastfeed and 2. To take care of my baby... # I have plenty of time to work on my body later I was on a “Mum mission” 😄💪🏽 ⠀ And you know what...this is the approach every-single-woman should note to herself every-single-day!⠀ As pictures on social media can sometimes be VERY discouraging. Can Pelvic Floor Muscles (PFM) be overactive?⠀ ⠀ Yes.⠀ ⠀ Doesn't that make them much stronger?⠀ ⠀ No.⠀ ⠀ Why?⠀ ⠀ When PFM are overactive ("nonrelaxing pelvic floor dysfunction") they do not function optimally at times when we need them to.⠀ ⠀ For example, when we cough, sneeze, raise something heavy.⠀ ⠀ How come? ⠀ Because they are already tired due to being active "non-stop" and because of that (in case of sneezing, etc. ) they only have a small amplitude of motion (contraction). What happens?⠀ ⠀ If PFM doesn't contract enough for a long period of time, they will become weak.⠀ ⠀ Imagine yourself walking on your toes all day. Feelin' your calves? :) I bet you do ... "Now jump!"⠀ Do you think you'll be able to...? The same is true for PFM... We'll be talking about symptoms tomorrow🤗⠀ ⠀
