Protein waffles have been the most requested food item in this household 3 weeks running. They're just too yummy, and, bonus, protein. So since I posted the first recipe a few weeks back, I've been making some tweaks to get the recipe just right for one (Belgian) waffle at a time. ***** PS: I use an incredibly similar recipe for pancakes.... So no waffle iron, no problem. ***** Single serving waffle: ***** Ingredients: -2 eggs -2tbsp cream cheese (or nut butter for #dairyfreeketo) -2tbsp unflavored protein powder (I used @isopurecompany whey, but people swear by egg protein for waffles) -1tbsp almond flour -1/4 tsp baking powder (optional but makes them floofier) -splash vanilla ***** Dump all ingredients in the blender and blend it up. Pour into your waffle maker, et voila! ***** Macros: 366 cal / 3.3 net carb (4 total) / 24 fat / 33 protein. Per recipe. ***** PSA: I avoid all so-called sugar free syrups because the vast majority are objectively terrible for you, and some will even impact blood glucose/ketone levels. Sucralose is not your friend. ***** Instead I use butter, frozen raspberries (microwaved to get them all juicy), strawberries, blueberries baked right into the batter, cacao nibs, dark chocolate chips, melted peanut butter, whipped cream... Back from hiking! I really love coffee and wanted to make sure I’d have a tasty vegan keto coffee option available wherever I was, so I made this DIY instant mushroom coffee mix to bring with me. Both my sister in law and I enjoyed this every morning and she suggested that I share the recipe online. So, here we are! 😊 . . . ••3 tbsp instant coffee powder ••2 tsp chaga mushroom elixir ••2 tsp maca powder ••1 tsp cinnamon . . . This yields 12 servings of 1 rounded teaspoon each. I mixed 1 tsp of this mixture with 8oz of hot water and then added in some powdered MCT oil. Existem sim algumas estratégias legais 🙏🏻 se liga ai…. . 1. Caminhe! Esqueça seu carro e vá caminhando para todos os lugares, na medida do possível! 🚶🏼‍♀️ 2. Use as escadas, esqueça o elevador! 3. Trabalhe nas coisas de casa, arrume o quarto, organize as caixas, plante uma tortinha, limpe o chão, passe aspirador etc… 🧹🛏 4. DANCE! Coloque uma música boa e dance ao invés de ficar no sofá assistindo tv! 🎊 5. Leve seu cachorro para passear! 🐶 6. Brinque com crianças, ao invés de deixar elas com o celular na mão, leve elas para o parque! 👧🏼🎠 7. Aumente sua ingestão protéica nas refeições, tanto proteína animal quanto proteínas vegetais, além de fornecer mais saciedade, nosso corpo gasta mais ao metabolizar as proteínas, diferente de carboidrato, que é super rápido e logo já estamos com fome. 🍳🥘 8. Currently dreaming of this yummy rhubarb keto dessert I made the other week. 😍 I have to admit that this past entire week I fell off the wagon with eating consciously. It started at the Ottawa Bluesfest and trickled into the everyday. At first I called it freedom eating. But then it just became that old pattern that made me feel comfortable. Making a choice is conscious and takes effort to stay in alignment. It’s hard work. Even with all the prayers in the world, showing up against comfort is The work. Today is a new start though. So far I’ve only had an espresso with stevia drops... (it’s still quite early in the morning!) going to make the effort to serve my body with purpose and nourishment. I should add more water too!! And the joy factor will be making this dessert again! With rhubarb, (no strawberries this time) swerve sugar substitute and a touch of lemon juice over the stove top. Then topped with coconut cream and lime zest. 🙌🏻 Yum!! What is your biggest struggle when it comes to eating with purpose? Availability? Not knowing where to start? Feeling overwhelmed with options? Time? Being surrounded by people who don’t want to change their eating habits?(family can be tricky sometimes) Self confidence? You got this!!! Take baby steps and listen to your body. ✨ Side note, yes I physically have extra fat in my body to remove, but it’s my mental health and hormones that are most affected by the foods I eat. We all are really. But tons of people don’t realize the food they eat will change their hormones, and skin, and inflammation and physical pain... food is both poison and medicine. It’s actually super fascinating when you research it!! So here’s to a new day and feeling good mentally. 🖤
