EGGS🍳 I have a love hate relationship with eggs. I have phases where I love them and then sometimes the thought of them alone makes me queasy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The thing is - eggs are pretty much the only breakfast that keeps me full and happy till lunchtime. I get asked a lot how I get my workouts done so early in the morning. During the school year, I have to push play by 5:30 in the morning. . I think it’s assumed I must be a morning person, but that’s definitely not it! I’m a morning person if you consider that to be someone who gets up at 7 am. But I used to HATE getting up before it was light outside. And I still don’t love getting up when it’s dark. . But here’s the thing. When I went back to work, I knew my routine was going to have to change to make this work. I didn’t have the option of working out during my son’s nap time anymore. I knew being away from my son all day, I wouldn’t want to take that time away from him in the evenings. Nor would I probably feel like working out after a long day at work. . So, I read the #MiracleMorning, and I got great ideas from Hal Elrod about morning routines. I connected with my #fittribe, an amazing group of women who are striving for the same things I am and who keep me accountable for my morning workouts. And having great pre-workout, aka “go-go juice” doesn’t hurt either! . It wasn’t an easy transition. I LOATHED getting up that early in the beginning. But I’ve now been doing this for almost a year, and it’s become second nature. . Are there still mornings I don’t want to get up? Yes! Are there days when it feels hard? Yes! Are there days I snooze my alarm? Yes! But, most of the time, I end up getting up before the second alarm even goes off. Because I actually love my quiet mornings now. I love having that small bit of time to myself before the day gets crazy. . The thing is, I chose this journey. I choose to live this life! So I make it work anyway I can! I challenge you to try to revamp your morning routine, even if it’s not about fitness.
