That festive season rut and how to get out of it 3.0 (From Mrs🤶) CHOOSE WISELY! MAKE SMART CHOICES! It’s mid November and the Christmas party invites are rolling in. Or if you are into your festivals they are on every second or third weekend (I have no idea if they are even that often but that’s not the point here) the point is, you can either choose to say yes and go to everyone of them or you can be smart and “choose wisely” It’s Christmas Day and you’re looking forward to that feast at lunch. Be smart about the rest of the day. Don’t go eating a calorie dense breakfast and consume over half your calories for the day, keep it light and save yourself for that feast. My point is, be smart about your choices and be aware of how much you are eating. Like I said in my 1.0 post, remain active. If you ended up eating a little more than expected and have done your walk in the morning, it won’t hurt to do an at home workout or take a second walk to help increase that energy out. I love food just as much as anyone but sometimes sacrifices have to be made. It just depends how bad you want something and if you are willing to make sacrifices to get it. Here we are...as the new year approaches, Christmas has been and gone and you are in the same rut you find yourself in every year. You look to quick fixes and fat loss products. You get sucked in by fat loss ad campaigns and find yourself searching that secret pill. I used to find myself in the same situation. I WAS LIKE YOU. I would set myself New Year resolutions year in year out to lose weight, to go to the gym more, to eat clean. I was never overweight and have always been fit and active but after a month off over Christmas enjoying all the festive food, I would feel like I needed a weight loss goal. I would feel guilty and have regrets. Well Christmas is over and I can say that although I have enjoyed the xmas parties, all the Christmas Day food and wine plus all the left overs days after 🙈, I am not feeling the guilt I would have felt years ago. Today we are Featuring our Favorite Post by @ emilyskyebeauty - 7.5 months postpartum I've been getting a fair few comments from women saying that I got back into shape too fast after giving birth to Mia. It’s not the case, it’s been 7.5 months and while I’m happy with myself, I am nowhere near as fit, strong or lean as I used to be and I didn’t “bounce back”. Being a fitness professional doesn’t automatically make it easier than others to get back in shape - yes I know how to do it but it still takes hard, consistent work. I just want you to know that it does take a while for most people. Even though I’d been exercising for about a decade before falling pregnant it has still been tough for me to get my fitness back. I’m getting stronger all the time though! 😊 Over the past few weeks I’ve really noticed a big difference in my core stretch and upper body strength. I’m able to do 20 full push-ups in a row whereas a few weeks ago I couldn’t even do 1 properly! It feels so good getting strong again. I feel on top of the world! 😃🙌🏼 I’m happy with how my body is looking right now too and my goals are to gain muscle, get stronger and work on my explosive strength like sprinting and box jumps. 👊🏼 Remember to be patient while working on your goals.
