It’s time people! Our planet needs us! Today, I am going on strike. ⠀⠀ This week, millions of people from over 150 countries, are stepping up to say it’s enough, it’s really time to end the age of fossil fuels. ⠀⠀ Alternatives are available in abundance. There is no shortae of energy, however, our planet can no longer support us shortsightedly pumping up oil. ⠀⠀ So today, my website has taken on a different look (see story), and I am on strike. ⠀⠀ Please join us - we can make a difference together 💚 #climatestrike #globalclimatestrike
SOVEREIGN LEADERSHIP Sovereignty means to be fully aligned with your true self, and to be completely free to express that. That freedom grows as you learn to: • take full ownership of your life and let go of any feelings of victimhood. • know your triggers, your fears, and your patterns so well, that they lose their power over you. You will therefor no longer project hidden feelings onto other people. • rise above the chaos of every day life to see the opportunities and potential that is available in the challenges you, your team and your company faces. Our time needs leadership that is more than just a skill set. People do not follow skills, they follow people. Who you are as a person, and how far you’ve developed yourself, is highly relevant to well you will do as a leader. In order to effectively lead with impact, it requires taking full ownership of who you are. Full on enjoying my moment of reading & great coffee ⠀⠀ Happy Saturday people!
I have been pushing myself pretty hard lately: I’m stretching in so many places, I feel pretty mucb completely outside my comfort zone. ⠀⠀ And I know that’s where the magic happens, right? However, it also feels unwise to just.push.through. I know, through working with hundreds of high performers over the past years, that Pushing Through rarely had a positive effect. ⠀⠀ The masters tell us over and over that to stay on your path of purpose, the most clear cue is to follow your highest bliss, as that is how we give ourselves guidance. ⠀⠀ Pushing through feels nothing like following your highest bliss! It feels like struggle, painful, not enough, and hardship. ⠀⠀ So instead of pushing through, I allow myself to feel the tired. I am giving in to what my body asks for: rest - kindness - self care. Withdrawing myself into my Cancer shell, even though I think on a rational level that I should go out and meet people. ⠀⠀ This is not easy. It’s a constantly required awareness to allow. To accept. However, it is necessairy. Following the cues your body sends you are so important to vitality, and to not fall into a larger pit of exhaustion or even burn out. ⠀⠀ I hope you are following your highest bliss today. Would love to hear about it! And I’m signing out for now (and do a nice relaxing Yoga Nidra session) 🙏🏼❤️
CELEBRATE! ⠀⠀ Every win Every kiss Every day Every challenge Every learning Every time Every thing ✨ It’s a miracle ⠀⠀ Pic by @bodilia.nl
‘Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light’ - Albus Dumbledore ✨ What inspires me most about this quote is the sense of personal responsibility that speaks from it. Even in dark times, YOU decide how you choose to feel and be. ✨ What can help spark your joy, when things happen for you that are scarry, sad, intense of otherwise not immediately positive? Would love to hear in the comments! ❤️
This pic was taken a little while back, it’s still in my old office. However it feels really right for today, as the slightly dazy glow of it, is exactly how I feel: a little bit out of this world. Today calls for self care and rejuvenation. Softness and silence. And that’s what I am giving into ❤️
This is so true! And how powerful it would be if we were all consciously aware of that at all times! ⠀⠀ How we respond to what happens in our lives makes all the difference, and just by shifting your perspective, you will feel a huge change in how you experience the challenges you face. ⠀⠀ When we stop feeling as if we are victims, and start being aware of the fact that things do not happen TO us, they happen FOR us! ⠀⠀ This shift is a huge one. And it will happen by sheer awareness. The awareness that how you respond will create how you feel about what happens. If you see every challenge as a gift to help you grow and learn, that is what you’ll do as a result. However, if you experience it as something or someone being out to ‘get’ you, that is how it will feel or even be. ⠀⠀ It is all in the eye of the beholder, and however you choose to respond will define what follows ❤️
FLOW How to know when to push and when to follow? In persuing our purpose and path, one l the biggest challenges I face is to know when it is time to follow the and let go when things don’t seem to be working out, and when to push forward even when it’s not easy. Is there an easy answer? I’m not sure. Here are a few of the answers my teachers and guides have given me: • follow you highest excitement. If you take tangible action on the things that bring you joy, you are ALWAYS on the path. • check in with yourself: how does thinking about the action you have thought of FEEL to you? Breathe into your abdomen: does it feel joyful? Does it feel stressed? Breather into your heart: does it feel expansive or does it feel constrictive? When we are pushing against ten flow of potential, it costs us. We drain our energy, we may feel resentment or anger, with ourselves or others. This is the same in corporate life as it is in private or spiritual life. Try these at work just as much as at home, and I am curious: how mych more aligned and on-purpose does it make you feel? - if you are interested in exploring your awareness, you purpose and the concept of flow further, 1:1 coaching might work for you. CONSISTENCY I know consistency is an important trait of a successful entrepreneur. I want to be a successful entrepreneur, hence, of course I am consistent. Ahhh if only it was thìs simple! I am not only an entrepreneur, I am conscious, spiritually driven entrepreneur. Which makes me in touch with my purpose, my deep wish to serve, and my own limiting beliefs, to name just a few perks. However, it also means that I try to follow flow, try to stay from pushing, yet follow energy towards the highest potential. Which honestly, can be unaligned with - you’ve guessed is - CONSISTENCY. This is what gets in the way of posting here every day, and especially it gets in the way of the regularity of my newsletter. I am trying though! My new plan is to send out an update every month on the 1st! Next one coming up this Sunday. You can sign up to get the best deals on coaching, and receive nuggets of leadership and communication wisdom every month through the link in my bio.
Back to normal life! In my area, children go back to school today, which as a mom of two with a business, means for me that I can get back into my normal rythm and get back to work in earnest. For me, Summer is a time of drawing in, and September is when the things get going again. This year, a lot has happened during summer though: I have been rebranding, and started redesigning my website and build a new website, thesovereignleader.com This work will be ongoing for at least another week, but I feel happy with the result so far. I have moved my office to a beautiful new place that is entirely mine. It has a garden & it’s a suiting new physical home for my work and the Sovereign Life Academy. I have decided on new product that will be coming soon: monthly group coaching call on mindful conflict resolution & sovereignty. If you want to know more: just send me a DM Also, I have made the final edits on my BOOK! It’s becoming more reale every day now. I can’t wait till I hold the first copies in my hand in a few months. So even though I haven’t seen that many clients, there’s been a lot of digging deep, restructuring, redesigning, rethinking. And to me, September feels more like the start of the New Year than January does 😄 So I start by crafting out what I would like the coming months to be like. Also, over the last few days, we have reinstated some good habits (weekly grocery shopping and meal planning), cleaned out the children’s bedrooms and recycled a lot of old clothes and toys they grew out of. I would love to hear how you experience summer and the start of September. What are your go-to tips for getting back after the summer? Do you set routines maybe?
At the core of exceptional leadership is Sovereignty, Mastery within Self. ⠀⠀ Leadership begins and ends with the self. Being a leader is not a role you play, it’s how and who you are. In leading others, you bring in your personality, your story, your experiences etc. ⠀⠀ And that doen’t have to be a bad thing. It does however mean that the leader involved should be fully capable of leading themselves first and foremost. ⠀⠀ Knowing yourself and being able to ‘manage’ yourself, so as to be lead by your stress, worries, ego and so on, is - in my opinion - the number one trait of excellent leadership. ⠀⠀ Because when you can are capable of managing your own fears, you create space to be present and to be your best, and thus be able to inspire and empower others to shine. And that should be the focus of every leader. ⠀⠀ I have written an article about this topic that you can easily read through the link in my bio 👆🏼 ⠀⠀ So, I am curious: how do you value self development? as a direct contribution to becoming a better leader? Or is it a waste of time/money? And have you ever worked with a coach to amp up your effectiveness and/ or happiness? ⠀⠀ Let me know in the comments!
