... Hand stand practice for the win !! ... I’m addicted to it- like literally addicted. To beating myself and bettering myself, each day. And my confidence has blossomed. I love the buzz it gives me and also love how bloody hard they are, makes me feel empowered. I’m literally sweating and I’ve only been out here for 35mins. Great little at home workout whilst the baby sleep 😍 And I have finally held an unassisted handstand for like 5 seconds - (see my story for the proof 🤪) ... ... Today I went to a 2 hour hand stand workshop and it’s given me so much more confidence to allow me to better myself at them, it’s unbelievable. Ok so I’m not a pro yet 😬 but today I was really hoping to come away with the knowledge of how to recover from a unsuccessful handstand in the best possible way to prevent injury and embarrassment 🤪 and I can 100% say that I have ticked that one off the list. ... @janie_garratt has really empowered me to want to keep pushing forward with my handstand abilities and now I feel so much more knowledgable about where, and how I can improve. Cannot wait for the next workshop- anyone with me.....? !! ... This is postpartum too... There’s a huge postpartum movement spreading the internet at present and yet it’s obvious to see that not every body image is included. Well, this is postpartum too. This is me at 19 months postpartum and I love and respect my body for what is has done, and still doing. Everyone always assumes I just “bounced back” but this is far from the truth. My body is not the same as before I gave birth. I have lose skin on my stomach when I relax , I have lost muscle mass and had to regain it, I have lost strength and had to build it back up. My boobs are pretty much non existent after breastfeeding for a whole year. And don’t even get me started on my pelvic floor...... It’s totally wonderful to see women empowering each other and showing “real bodies” but at the same time, they are excluding so many. My body is real too!! Just because I don’t have any overhang, stretch marks or obvious dimples to the naked eye, doesn’t mean I am not worthy of being included as a real postnatal woman. Every postnatal journey is different and we should respect that, just like everyone’s bodies are different. Instead of judging someone for “bouncing back too quickly” lets take a second to praise EVERY postnatal body, for it has gone through a breathtaking journey in creating and nourishing a life. Be proud to show your postnatal body, what ever you look like, and don’t be afraid to share your journey. I’m training whilst I can atm and that’s not a lot 😔 but all I can do is show up and work hard. ...
