... Trying to get myself back into a gym routine is proving to be tough..... and the consistency is key moto....? My life has been anything but that !! ... My work to family life ratio has been hard to juggle recently and my priorities haven’t favoured my burning desire to smash the gym. Don’t get me wrong I’ve wanted to, so so badly, but for some reason, life has just got in the way and I have only managed to hit the gym twice a week for a very long time. I miss structure, I miss feeling as strong as I was a few months ago and I miss the energy.....my energy has fizzled away. ... So for me, the desire to “want” and the passion to “do” outweighs the lack of consistency. The fire is still ignited, I just haven’t been able to let it spread. It simply means I just need to work a little bit harder at managing my time and allowing myself the much needed “me” time that I’ve lacked recently. ... Tomorrow, it all starts again. ... I’ve only dropped down by 100-150 a day and not had to compromise on a social life, my fav foods and still only training twice a week (three if I’m lucky) as that’s all I’ve managed to achieve recently with work and mumma duties. ... FAT loss doesn’t need to be limited to salads, daily workouts and saying no to the girls night out that you’ve had planned. It’s about educating yourself on what your body requires for what you’re body does. It’s about being consistent with your training (even if it’s only twice a week- it’s about making those sessions count) and about being honest with what you’re eating and how much..... ... ... MY TRAINING SPLIT.....🤔 ... What ever the hell I get to train, when ever I bloody can 😂. ... Some people are lucky enough to train when they want, for how long they want, how often they want. For me....Not anymore. Since Robyn, I manage to get the the gym at least twice a week, if I get to go 3 times I’m literally BUZZING. But on average it’s 2-3xs a week max. This means my training split comprises of Legs X2 and one upper body session - where I like to focus mainly on PULL as that’s my favourite thing to train. ... I prioritise legs as this is the area I want to develop, and for me, I want to build a really strong posterior chain, not only for aesthetical reasons, but for health benefits too. ... So when I got to the gym 4 Xs last week I was spilt for choice and managed 2Xs leg session, 1 PULL and 1 PUSH 😍😍😍 ... This was a great week !!!! ... ... So I’ve been a bit distant on the old gram (for me) this past week or so as I’ve just been mega busy and my usual routine has gone out the window. ... I’ve been working more than usual which means my priorities have changed... instead of hitting the gym I have wanted to get home to my little girl. And that’s ok !! I feel totally out of sink and quite dysfunctional as the gym is my therapy when I’m tired and stressed, but my little girl is also my therapy. After this week I have a much clearer schedule and means I can hit the gym as normal or even more than my regular sessions and start to regain some much lost energy. ... But my message is, don’t let one bad week turn into a bad month or a bad year. We all have set backs. We may all have the same number of hours in a day but sometimes we need to prioritise things differently.
