I remember looking at my leg in the image on the left and thinking ‘my precious muscle is all gone, all of my years of hard work have been destroyed’. 😫😕. . Well here I am today, my muscle is already starting to come back and I’ve only been walking without the boot for 2 weeks. The human body really is amazing! 💪🏼💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼. . As challenging as this injury has been for me on so many levels, I am actually so grateful to have gone through it. I’ve learnt SO much about the human body and about myself, and the best part is that I have a platform to share the experience on. . . Injuries happen to people everyday, and they can (excuse the pun), make you or break you! You can see them as a way to fall in a heap, or you can see them as an opportunity to grow 🙌🏼. . I honestly feel that for the most part of the injury I was in survival mode, but I did what I could with the tools that I had. And now my toolbox is twice the size that it was and I know that if I can get through that, I can get through anything! 💪🏼. . Sometimes I look at my life and I think that I get sent these challenges on purpose. If I was to look at the last few years of my life, I can honestly say that I’ve had more challenges than highs. I’ve had so many tough times where I honestly wanted to run away and hide. I’ve had to step into the most uncomfortable of spaces, and for a lot of it I’ve had minimal support. I am not saying this for sympathy, more so the opposite! . . Keep filling that toolbox up and keep rising to your challenges! . . You are stronger than you know!!!!! . . 🍑2 weeks ago I was in a moonboot, and today I managed a new PR for squats 🍑 . 6 reps @ 60kgs 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😅😀 . Now when I say new, it’s my new starting point post injury. The past 2 weeks have been challenging, not going to lie, so to achieve this today felt amazing 😅. . My body needs a lot of work, lower back is still not great but I am putting the work in and seeing specialists to help with this! The best news from today was, my foot felt good and I had the confidence to load the bar up and it felt AMAZING!!😀🙏🏼. .
